Krewe Bayou Le Roux
about the Krewe Bayou Le Roux
Krewe Bayou Le Roux “KBLR” was organized March 1, 2009 in Alexandria, Louisiana. KBLR is an exclusive, private, social non-profit Mardi Gras Krewe open to singles and couples. We provide social activities for the members and perform at least one charitable function each year.
Mission
The primary purpose of the Krewe is to “pass a good time” with old friends and new friends alike. The Krewe organizers have been good friends for many years and are always open to meeting new people and expanding our circle of friendship to include others.
General Information
In Louisiana’s Cajun culture, the term “le roux” refers to the gravy base used to make a good gumbo. Many of the organizers of KBLR live or originated around the bayous of Louisiana. The combination of these two things was used to create the name Bayou Le Roux. We think as a group, like in a good Louisiana gumbo, we have all the ingredients for great, lasting friendships.
Our Membership
Krewe Bayou Le Roux is open to couples or singles (and their significant other) over the age of 21 by invitation only. The cost of membership is $350 per year.
